Early Morning Assembly {Luke} « Thread Started on Nov 14, 2007, 9:16pm »
Jesse walked into the school after getting up early that morning. Like normal though she had to awake at 6:30 in the morning and be on her way to school by 7:40 since classes started at 7:55. Suppressing a yawn, Jesse walked over to her locker and pulled out a couple books from it then started on her way to her classroom. She walked into the classroom after the bell rang, almost making her late to class but she didn't really care this time.
Dropping into her seat, Jesse was only sitting there for so long until she had to go with her class to the auditorium for an assembly. Walking to the auditorium, Jesse looked around for some of her friends but didn't see any so she walked to an aisle seat and sat down near the back of the room. She propped her feet up against the back of the seat in front of her, blocking the way down the row she was sitting in. She pulled out her phone and sighed softly when she saw she had no reception so she sat back, keeping her legs where they were and watched the other students pouring in through the doors.

Luke strolled into the morning assembly, late as usual. The principal sent him a frown as he walked in (they'd had quite a few... er... misunderstandings in his time there), but he simply waved sarcastically at her and continued to the back of the auditorium. As he passed, the majority of the heads of the student population turned to watch him, but he barely noticed. He was used to the attention by now.
Considering he was late, most of the seats were filled, apart from those in the front row, but he wasn't going to sit up there. The last one in the back was next to a girl he didn't know. So, smirking slightly, he slipped into the seat and grinned at her. "Hey." he muttered quietly, one eye on the principal, who gave him another look then continued with her announcements.

Jesse stirred from her stupor as Luke walked up and she sat up in her seat more, looking over at him "Hey" she said softly with a small grin, turning her gaze back to her phone as if to see if she had any reception yet. Noticing a couple bars, Jesse quickly flipped open her phone and pressed a few buttons then started typing out a text.
As she typed, Jesse glanced over at him and raised an eyebrow as she did "Why are you late?" she asked softly, recognizing him from her History and Math classes.

"Got caught up with something." Luke explained mysteriously, not willing to give away too much information. Honestly, he was just getting his car fixed, but he liked to seem more bad than he actually was. It helped with his image.
"You're in my class, though, aren't you? History?" Of course, considering he was very rarely in math, he had no idea who was even in the class. However, he did tend to stop into History from time to time, so he recognized her vaguely when she looked at him.

She rolled her eyes at his tone and quickly sent her text message before her reception was lost again. She looked over at him, resting her head in her hand "History and Math actually but since you hardly come to Math I doubt you even know that" she said with a smirk, looking over towards the principal as she explained the details of the upcoming dance. Homecoming dance. One of the worst dances in Jesse's opinion. Sure she attended them but all those times were with friends. She had never been to a dance with an actual date and she wasn't sure she even wanted to start now. "I hate dances" she mumbled under her breath.

"Math too? Really?" he asked, looking confused. "Well, math too, then. My bad. But yeah, join the club." Luke muttered back, grinning slightly as he pretending to listen to the principal. "What's she on about now? Homecoming? It's a waste of time. A load of people standing around in the gym. Sounds like fun." he said in slight sarcasm, rolling his eyes.

She laughed softly, looking over at him "Of course. Everyone attends it the day after the homecoming football game. No one cares about the other sports though like Soccer or the Swim Team" she said rolling her eyes at the very thought. She was on those two teams and she knew that the school never recognized them. They were always considered the lesser teams even if the girl's soccer team had won two years in a row in state. No one at school other than the other players really gave a care.

"Yeah, tell me about it." Luke said, shaking his head. "It's stupid, isn't it? The soccer team's twice as good as the football team, and we get no recognition at all. Plus, we're twice as attractive." he joked, winking at her and propping his feet up onto the seat in front of him, much to the annoyance of the guy sitting there, who flipping him off. He only laughed, though, shrugging it off.

She looked over at him quickly, raising an eyebrow at him "You're on the soccer team? I know ever guy on the guy's team and I have never seen you on the team or at practice or at the games. Do you hide from me or something?" she asked playfully with a small smirk. Glancing up at the teacher who walked past them, Jesse spit out her gum and watched as it landed in the unknowing teacher's hair. She laughed softly, looking back at Luke with a grin.

"All right, you caught me." he said, flashing her a grin. "I just joined, actually. I don't usually do organized sports... it ties in with the whole school-spirit thing, which I'm severely lacking, but I'm willing to sacrifice it for soccer." It was then that she spat the gum at the teacher, and Luke stiffled a laugh behind his hand, watching as the oblivious teacher continued walking. When she'd passed, he turned to the girl next to him and grinned a bit brighter. "You and me, I think we're going to get along just fine. I'm Luke. Luke Bianchi."

She grinned at him, rolling her eyes playfully "Oh I'm sure you're nothing compared to the rest of the team or any of us on the girl's team" she said with a smirk, watching the teacher walk away with the gum still in her hair. Jesse returned her gaze to Luke when he recited his name after saying they'd get along just fine. She raised an eyebrow at him and smiled slightly "Jessica Moore but I go by Jesse or Jess or Ica when Karma is angry with me" she said rolling her eyes at the last part.

"Babe, I'm better than all the guys on the team combined." Luke replied playfully, grinning. He was exaggerating a bit, of course, but he did like to think that he played well. "But Jesse. Nice name." He paused, looking her over, before looking back into her eyes. "Suits you." Without another word, he turned his gaze back to the principal, who was making the last of the announcements.
